About

Francis Kelegu Badgie

The Francis K Badgie Scholarship was established in January 2021 as a memorial to the late Mr Francis Badgie who was born in  Navorongo (Upper East Region of Ghana).  He attended Tamale Secondary School and on completion went on to study agriculture at Kwadaso Agriculture college in Kumasi.  At the end of his studies he was posted to the North of Ghana as an Agriculture Minister and although he went on to further his studies abroad he returned to Ghana and through his hard-work, commitment and drive he became the Regional Director of the Upper Region Corporation.

Mr Francis K Badgie was a firm believer in helping people through Education in order that they may then be in a position to help others, as a result he supported numerous people through their educational journey.

As a family, we have decided to honour his memory by setting up this foundation with funds donated by his wife (Mrs Theresa Badgie) and children as well other sponsors (family and friends) to be used in supporting the less privilege children who would like to pursue further education in Agriculture but are limited to do so due to lack of Funds.
